My little Olive is still laying little cream colored eggs and she has been for about a month now! I think it's ironic that al the people that are able to hatch (I dont have a rooster and I can't) aren't getting eggs and I am
Does anyone know if there are any red d'anvers in the US??? (not ginger red, just plain red, no black tailed birds)
none yet that I am aware of, both myself and another man are working on them. The way I'm going about it will make black tailed reds first, then solid red the next cross.
Should take me 2 more years of breeding to have them down...
I was running a bit late, the boss and I both went hunting again this afternoon. We both got one, so the tenderloin bribe is sliding back a bit, Laura, you may be in the lead again
Hold on Aubrey, tenderloin is tenderloin . But I have people go on fishing trips that don't even like to fish just for the opportunity to eat my tenderloin and gravy special. Offer some one fudge and they're satisfied for a alttle bit but offer them "my" gravy and they will set in a boat all day and drink beer.

haha... No fair for me! I wish I could have a rooster! If Rufus isn't in the coop tomorrow, I may have stole him
You don't need to steal a rooster. Might just hand RUSTY to you if you happen by this way some day.
Oops, how'd that sneaky rooster get in your car, Sam?!
Haha I'll take ANY d'anver rooster, but I can't even though my zoning allows anyone in my town to have them, my mom doesn't like the noise. The funny thing is we hid a rooster for 3 MONTHS from her and she didn't hear it until we told her we had one
Aubrey, What would come out if I cross black ameraucana bantam hen to my silver quai or my lavender cuckoo roo? Will the chick lay blue color egg later on? Will the chicks have rosecomb or pea comb? Thanks, Do
haha,
I hear ya JJ... it sure is good. I'd fish with you just for the heck of it, but then I'm addicted to it too.
Which ever one of you makes me fattest first gets them first!!
Do,
color wise the F1 's would all be black either way. Only difference would be the lav cuckoo being a boy , his babies would be cuckoo split to lavender.
With the silver, the wingbows on the male chicks would most likely be silver too. Depending on which way you went, you could get a few various colors.
I have never messed with many pea comb birds, I know rose is a dominate one, so would think at first they'd mainly be very small rose combed with a few peas thrown in.
Egg color would be green, but would most likely have to back cross to the EE one more time to get that.
