Quote: My LG has been running about 18-20% which is much lower than my summer dry incubation , so I add a little water now and then, the RH% is all over the place. Mostly below 30%.
What % do you have with out adding water??
I don't know, my hygrometer just reads "low". I don't worry about it anymore. I use a sportsman. Its always been difficult for me to keep up the humidity in it, and now, since I've been using the dry hatch method, I don't think about it much. I hatch in a Genesis. My particular "secret" which isn't one really is, not to open the hatcher until the last minute possible. I get better hatches when I keep my hands off the hatcher....LOL my other breeds also hatch well with this method.
They were packed fairly well. They survived some bad shipping stuff:![]()
I'm anxious to find out how yours do. I should be getting Black eggs from the same source by next Thursday.
No one can predict how any box will be handled from the PO.
I think I just figured out my problems with my homemade cabinet incy/hatcher combo. I hopefully will set some of my eggs tomorrow.
I want to give the shipped eggs every chance. I would love some new blood.
Thanks! This hen is young. Just started laying not too long ago. I'm pleased with her egg color so far. I'm planning to hatch some of her eggs soon. I've got her in with a rooster than was from a really dark egg also. So fingers crossed
That is a great egg!![]()
maybe if you shake her you can get a few more dark eggs lolShe ran out of paint!!![]()
Love the egg---I've had somewhat similar eggs, just not as pronounced a difference in depth of color. Is hwe ayoung pullet or an older hen?
