Are Welsumers at all easy to sex as day-olds?

To be honest, I don't even try to sex them as day olds. I have heard people say you can, by their markings on the head...I have never tested the theory.
I am pretty accurate at 1 week old. But the only sure fire way I know as day olds is to vent sex and I am not gifted in that area.

I was dreaming of being able to order a few from you this spring rather than the feed stre/hatchery chicks... but then I realized that we wouldn't be able to get enough to keep them warm in transit anyway, so it wouldn't work. Bummer. Sigh, some day I will live in the country and be able to have all the chickens I want!!!

I still have not become brave enough to ship live birds. I still only ship eggs. But i do know there are a few hatcheries that do ship the small orders and add heat packs to the box. There are others here that have more info on that.

I have cucoo marans,clean shank and feather shank that are kept separate. My feather shank will not be ready until after 2-15. My marans are starting to lay well and the egg color has improved since the first ones laid this year. I will only send the darkest eggs. Here is a picture of the first ones laid this year. i have not taken pics of the ones I'm getting now, but when I do,I'll post them.

The lighter eggs are speckled sussex eggs.

I should have cuckoo marans and black copper marans, and maybe blue marans available when you are wanting your eggs.
