All this bear is spoken for, but you can have some of the next one. Seems like every month or so in the faal and winter we have a BIG problem with them. If you know where Westcott is, a bear got into a garage and made a mess of a freezer.
Rufus, I had to use a 12 ga. with 3" mags, loaded with 000 buckshot. I would prefer to use the bow just not at night. Same reason I didn't use a rifle. All kills must be clean.
Anyone that knows the state will come in and trap a bear for you. In California when this is done, the bear doesn't leave the property alive. This goes for any predator not just bears. As for darting one, that would be a joke, who would go down in the cayon to bring it out.
The main couses for this is those that have move in from the cities, DON'T HAVE CLUE what to do with their trash and bar-b-ques. Here we have to take our trash barrels about a mile to the pick up area. Must have a pickup, not a BMW or Lexus.
So the trash builds up for a few months before they hire someone to take it to the dump. Not only bear but rats and bugs. The other reason is the state has no bear hunting season.
Anyone willing to come here and show me a better way to stop the bear problem, is more than welcome. I PAY NO MEDICAL BILLS for those injuried tring.
