daughter is in the hospital- Guillian barre syndrome what should I

Thanks again everybody. I did just get a little chuckle while on the phone with her a nurse came in and told her she had a adavan for her to calm down again. They dont understand shes high strung 24/7 lol. I wonder how many times they have giving it to her I'll have to ask.

yes I have alot of knowledge on MS since Ive been a cna for 20 years and my sis in law was diagnoces 3 years ago. but it is awful disease once it hits and stays for the duration.

MS also has its own unique course and set of issues for each person. Also it can have periods where the person returns to complete and total normal and the symptoms may never come back or not for years, and there are medications that can treat or alleviate the conditions.

I have been plagued by neurological issues for years and they are still ruling out MS, it is very elusive to diagnosis unless a doctor wants to just say "you have MS"...none of mine want to!! (Even with Lesions on my brain, recurrent and permanent numbness in my extremities, constant headaches, etc, etc

I hope your daughter gets satisfactory answers as soon as possible...she may also end up being checked for things like Lyme disease, Lupus, etc, etc....there are sooooo many Neurological issues that can cause her symptoms, the hope is that they resolve quickly and she can return to normal. I always do!!

I will be thinking positive thoughts for you and your family....Tina/tfpets

Just a note here my daughter was having all kinds of problems at 24 years old with 2 kids. It started when her 2nd child was born. Went from MS to about 3 other things then they said fibro.

Long story short is when her second son was born she started drinking diet pop. She had aspertain posioning. You might want to read up on that. She stopped drinking diet pop and went on a course of antibiotics and is fine. But the 1 1/2 years of H*ll she went thru was not fun.

I will be keeping you and yours in my prayers.

she came home today they said they ruled out MS and it must be viral of some sort that effects nerves. we were home for 30 minutes when the neualigist called and said several drs looked at the mri results and they found a lesion on her spine and they believe it is ms and she has to go for another mri i 4 weeks to be sure. the dr said they actually should have kept her at the hospital but they can do everything as a outpatient. shes been crying saying they are telling he she wont get to live to be old and is going to die young. I told her many people live a ealthy 30 years after being diagnosed but I am stressed a friend died 4 years after diagnoses and a client died 11 so I know its not always long term. Me and stress are not friends I am sitting here doing shots trying to make this fear and sress go away. Hubby says Ive seen you in this mood with a bottle before its not pretty so I'll just have a few more and go to bed. I'm going to put up a christmas tree tommorow that always cheers me up. excuse the spelling tonight lol. to top all this bs my 20 yo son who does not get along with his dad says he hates me because I wont leave him which I have no reason to we are happy together for 25 years. so the boy gets drunk on thanksgiving and throws a rock through the dining room window in the middle of the night and let the air out of hubbys corvette tires. what a week sorry to put it all here but thats all I got to vent. well back to drowning my sorrows its been a long time.

Good Lord, freshegg, I just realized this is you, from G'field. Was she at Franklin, or at Baystate? I know nurses in neuro in both places. And who's her primary? And who's her neurologist?

Don't sit home doing shots too much, okay? Would a cup of tea help? Or could somebody take you out, maybe, to the Pint or something?

Your neighbor,
chickiebaby

she was at baystate and I dont know the name of the neuoligist shes been talking to them Ive been here taking care of her 3 yo til today. tea wont help lol. a few more shots and I will sleep good and play xmas music while xmas decorating tommorow and I know I will feel better. I think the drs name had a o and a I in it I will have to ask I dont know any of them but baystate is great I had a 1 pound baby there 12 years ago and she fine. my biggest fear is to outlive any of my children I am emossionally weak. as far as ging out I wouldnt make good company tonight. but thanks for the concern.

I am sorry for your troubles!...as for Baystate..um..could you get a second opinion somewhere else?...baystate scares me sometimes..

*hugs* I have a friend who has been chugging along with MS for... lets see, yep, 28 - 30 years now, just saw her and her youngest who I saw born and just got married a month ago, in town last week, she's doing very well, though of course has her bad days too.

Everyone is different, let your daughter find her path, and you find yours too. Other people's horror stories don't need to be yours!

Don't get too down, and I'll stop pratting on now so you can go rest.

*more hugs*
