My husband and I just started the Dave Ramsey classes 3 weeks ago. We meet every Tuesday night for a 1 hr video then a 1 hr discussion. So far it's been great. We have been fairly good with our money. We paid cash for our cars and we don't owe on credit, but there's still so much we didn't and don't know. We had no idea how to really go about putting together a budget. And you know that sinking feeling at the end of the month when there's still bills and there's no more money. Well, it's gone. My mother in law paid the $100.00 enrollment fee as a gift and you get SOOOOOOOOOO much for your money. His book, workbook, cd's budget books and more. Plus you meet for 3 month every Tuesday. Just thought I would pass on what a positive experience this has been for us so far, and the side effect is it makes you stronger as a couple.

I've seen him on 60 Minutes and a few other shows and have been really impressed. I've also heard from those that have gone through his programs, read his books, etc. that they have been very happy and excited about what he does.

The real money is in giving classes to people that want to be rich. All these heavily promoted money making schemes are scams. The people involved are selling classes about making money. Their ideas don't really don't make for most people money. So don't be over sold on the idea, these are not a real money making schemes.

I don't think Dave Ramsey is as much a money making deal, as it is a money management deal. I need to get on the bandwagon again - just got a completely incredible raise/promotion at work, and it's time to get back into taking care of my medical bills, debt, start an E-fund and get a good savings account moving along.

Overrun with chickens....you are in GA I see. I live in metro Atlanta and you can listen to Dave M-F from 3-6pm on AM640. I listen to him every afternoon on my way home...I have followed his talk show for a couple of years now and what he talks about is common sense money management. He talks to people who are in trouble giving them sound advise on how to work out their problems and turn their financial life around...he speaks from experience as in the past he was wealthy and went broke and filed bankruptcy....he then turned his life around and worked his way out of the hole. I have been a single parent for 13 years with a dead beat EX and I was not in a position to save any $$$ to speak of...I still do not have money but I am cashflowing my two kids thru college! If it were not for listening to Dave Ramsey I would not have known the steps necessary to do this. He also has a great website with all sorts of help/links, etc. He is NOT a get rich quick guy, he is a person who teaches common sense money management! He gives expert unbiased advise on how to get your financial life on track.

I can't say enough good things about this program. I'll keep you up to date as we go through the different classes. This weekend's going to be a bear because we have to put together a VERY detailed cash flow budget. Every dollar has to be accounted for. Thank goodness DH and I are patient with each other!

I have followed Dave Ramsey for YEARS. This is NOT a money MAKING scheme at all. Dave Ramsey is a personal finance guy that teaches you things everybody should know about personal finance. His books/classes/etc. are money well spent for the knowledge you acquire. If not for God, the use of Dave Ramsey's his techniques, and smart managing, when my husband was laid off for almost TWO YEARS.......we would have lost this house a loooooooong time ago. Basically he shows you how to deal with what you already have going for yourself. We went through our "Fully Funded Emergency Fund" when hubs was laid off, and now we are building it back up.

Good to see you are enjoying his class OP! You will NEVER regret applying those principles to your personal finances! It is a relief to find a way to financial security regardless of your take home pay. Living below our means is the smart thing to do, especially in an economy such as the current one. Hang in there, and if you hit any rough spots, I'm a Dave Ramsey 5 year veteran..feel free to PM me

I still follow my budget too, and I remember the first few being the hardest. Guess that's why he calls them "Baby Steps"

So good to hear you've had such a positive experience with the program. My husband and I are amazed the difference it has made in our relationship in such a short time. We've always had a strong marriage, but this is just making it better. I can only imagine how much better a couple could be if they weren't on the same financial page after taking the classes.

Dave is awesome I got his book in august I am excited to get out of debt but my wife is dragging her feet I just hope she gets excited as I am to get out debt and be able to enjoy life and not be so stressed out.

And no this is no scam it's about living with in a budget and being able to live like no one else .
