System feed.

My girls love the crumbles....so do my dogs :) the shells of their eggs are so strong I dropped one on the counter and it didn't even crack!

That's so funny you say that..I incubate a lot (ok, well most) of the eggs laid here.. if they are quitters in the first 7-10 I let my 6 year old throw them into the compost pile and my dogs think this is the greatest game ever..see who can get to the busted egg first.. well yesterday was candle day and I took about 12 out and gave them to my son..about 10 out of the 12 just bounced and rolled.. he picked several back up and threw them even harder straight down at the ground and they acted like a tennis ball..bounce and roll.. he finally took them to the driveway and busted them on rocks for the dogs.. insane what a difference :)

Purina Layena Oyster Strong laying pellets is the only brand of feed for my girls! They polish off a 50 LB. bag in only a week! It's their absolute favorite! Thanks Purina!

My girls really like it. I have to have two feeders for seven hens because they'll empty a feeder in a day. Even I like the smell of it.

My girls don't like this feed. They scratch it out of their feed pans and have slowed from 9 to 11 eggs a day to 5 or 6 eggs a day. The eggs have a chalky appearance as opposed to the usual pretty glossy look. I have finished one large bag for my 17 hens (14 laying) and have switched back to Nutrena.

I have 10 hens and two feeders. I put Layena Pellets in one feeder, and the Crumbles in the other. It seems like some like the Crumbles, others the Pellets, so I spoil them with a choice of each. Even though they are free range, and come and go as they please, I find they eat Purina in the morning, after egg-laying, then again at night. They seem to enjoy the feed.
Usually I get 6 to 7 eggs from my girls. Today I got 9!!!

Usually, my girls scramble out of the coop to their treat boxes and scratch grains when their coop is first opened in the mornings. Now, they run to their Purina Layena Omega-3!
