i have desperately tried o and off all spring/summer so far to get hatched eggs. my silkies are so broody. right now there are 9 eggs under 2 of them. i am afraid to candle since i never see anything ever. these are shipped eggs as i figured out the roo is not doing what he should be. my first set of shipped got lost in mail for over a week, and were no good. i am on day 12 (i think) as new set were put under broodys on the 9th. i dont know what to do, i am nervous it wont work out this time either!

thanks for listening,
mb

I am so glad you are getting some hatches. I need to go check up on your thread about the sick chickens. Haven't had much time lately, DH was very ill himself last week, turns out he's got mono!!

Hope you enjoy your little chicks! You deserve it.

Oh no! Sorry Nina. Mono is miserable. I had it years ago and was very ill for several weeks. Not fun! Sending lots of well wishes your way.

I ended up with 10 chicks total from a 42 egg hatch.

Not very good luck this time around, but in light of my sick chicken situation that is probably best. I got 2 Welsummers, 2 Wyandottes, 1 Ameraucana, 1 bantam Partridge Rock, 1 Leghorn (my nephew's), 1 bantam Leghorn, and 2 mystery chicks! Here's some pics of the hatch and my new little ones.

Congratulations on the new additions, Stacey. Actually, I like smaller numbers. They are much more manageable and you can tame them easier when there aren't so many of them.
