Day 17: An egg smells foul, what to do?

I believe it's only a high risk of drowning if there's a hole. Like they already pipped and you throw them in water. In this case the egg was smelly so best to weed it out now before it ruins the whole nest.

That's a relief.
I was told they could drown in a couple of ways. A colapsed sack and water from too much moisture on the outside getting inside.

Yeah, seemed to me its only a risk if there is a hole too. Either way, as long as the eggs are only in the water for a few seconds no real harm can be done. And in this case it detected a dud egg that wasn't smelling which was handy

Check with your university or farm co-op they may have literature in wuestion and answer format. Hope all goes well for the wee ones.
