I have to (get to?) teach little Kindergartners today...they are so little! I'll have to see how many chicks are hatched then too...I may have to pop the hatched ones out quickly into the brooder box, so the bator isn't too full of little fluffybutts!

I've got some in the bator(15) and some under broody Silkie hens(18) Can' wait..Still got 2 weeks to wait!!!!!!!

I'm home now- I just had to work 1/2 day. Yay!
I just moved 15 chicks into my baby brooder box. They are all in great shape, and i had to get them out of the bator because 2 other babies needed a bit of help. 1 was pipped but so stuck I had to soak a paper towel with hot water and moisten the yuck that was hardened on the chick. Its out and resting in the bator now. Another one was upside down in the egg with the head in the bottom and the feet up at the top. I helped it out too and its doing very good right now. They both just needed some time to rest without the other 15 crawling all over them.
Pics will be loaded in a few min and I'll post them. They are so cute!

Congrats on the chicks! I also have 14 of Dipsydoodledoo's Ameraucauna eggs hatching today! The bad part is that I am stuck out of town working and I am missing the show. My wonderful wife is keeping me updated as they hatch. Eight so far with five more piped.
Good luck with the remainder of your hatch!

Thanks! Hope all of yours hatch! The 2 I left in the bator are getting up and around now. I've got 2 more pipped, and then still about a dozen or more left to still pip (hopefully!)

Which ones are frizzles? I cannot wait. We candled today and 10 of the 15 Ameraucanas were good but only 5 of the fifteen Frizzles were progressing. Boo Hoo for me. I have been wanting frizzles for a while now. I hope a few make it.
Congratulations on your hatch. They are adorable.

I know the 1st one to hatch was from a Frizzle egg- it is a black and yellow chick. Not sure which one is the other one. (2 Frizzles have hatched so far out of 3 eggs.)
The rest are all Ameraucaunas. Yippee!

Awww, how cute! If they could just stay little longer...they grow up too fast- just like kids!
I've got 3 still in the bator, I'll move them into the brooder box with their siblings later today. That will be 18 in all. I'll check these other eggs too to see if anyone is alive in them.

well, I ended up with 18 total. I think when I moved the 15 from the bator yesterday, I must have caused a humidity change (even tho I was very quick doing it.) because i opened up the other eggs and there were 10 (

) who looked almost ready to hatch, other than the egg sack not being totally absorbed.
Too sad

But on the bright side, these 18 babies look great and they are just too cute for words!
