Day 20.

Just wait...it's not called 'lock-down' for no reason. ;)
I don't know why folks think they need to candle for an internal pip.
If you hear peeping then you know it's internally pipped,
then you have to wait until it's ready to externally pip.
Leave them be.
I don't hear anything, but i did see the same egg wiggle earlier. I'll wait until day 22-23 before i candle and see what's going on.

Do i need to candle tonight to see if they are at least internally pipped?
I know it's hard to wait, lol. And I have wondered whether or not any have internally pipped during lockdowns. But, I tell myself, if I did candle and find that some have internally pipped, it wouldn't change anything except satisfy my curiosity for a bit. And it could/would disrupt the temperature and humidity, so I fight the urge and wait it out. It is hard to be patient, lol. Good luck with your hatch! :fl

Thank you!!! I told my husband last night that its EXTREMELY hard to not candle but i don't want to mess anything up from like you said, my curiosity! I have my incubator in our spare bedroom, he comes looking for me because he can't find me, walks back there and he said i scared him cause i look like someone off a scary movie just sitting on the floor staring into the incubator just waiting for a egg to move! Lol! This is my first time incubating so I'm anxious but i KNOW and have to keep telling myself that i have to be patient!

You are most welcome! I enjoy incubating, but it is most definitely a test in patience, especially during lockdown.

I think of 'lock down' as keep your hands off and wait. ;)

Many folks feel that way, and I don’t argue one way or the other. I just don’t do it. :D

Especially after I watched my first few broody hatches. My incubation perspective changed a lot after watching them.

I have assisted many chicks, remove dried chicks in groups, but don't see a reason to candle for internal pips.
Interference is best kept at a minimum, and only when definitely needed.
