Day 21 alive chick no air sac?

Great Job!!! Congrats!!

ALWAYS help if needed, I have helped a bunch already! But DEFINATELY LEARNED MY LESSON!

BUT.... remember, once their beak is free to breath let them rest, and it could take over a full day! NEVER pull them out of the shell, a lesson I learned the hard way.... that egg supported life for over 21 days and its no rush to get them out, first up is breathing and absorbing and resting and gaining that energy!

You sure know when they are feeling better dont they? they chirp like they never will again!! LOL I joke saying the house is rattling with chirps!!

Again, Great job, you did great! What did you name him????

I hatched this little one about 2 weeks ago.... see its butt??? but it absorbed it all and is the biggest happiest of the bunch!!

Oh my! I'm glad it's doing good:) I haven't ever helped a chick before and so I kinda freaked! Never again:) I think I'm done hatching for a while, that was just a little too stressful for me. I hatched 11 out of 13 so that's not too bad. I introduced "Chica" into the flock about a hour ago, she is feisty. Thank you everyone for your help, you all helped keep me sane!

she likes to eat:)

I'm so glad to hear she's doing so well!

You say you are done for now, I said the same thing, then I bought a 200 egg incubator.

I had a 56 egg home made one and I went crazy come hatch time. I babysat that thing for 3 days. Inbetween helping chicks hatch, battling with humidity, trying to keep newborn chicks from older, stronger chicks in a hopelessly inadequate brooder. We live and learn... LOL Smaller 'bator for me next time!

I will admit, I did ask my husband for a new incubator for Christmas;)
