day 22 and no babies yet :(

Seems to be a hard year for a few people, I lost all 5 that were due, waited 5 days after due date and nothing. :( still have a few from my hen that I lost a few days ago, which I'm still trying to get over :( but out of all my eggs I have only one that hatched and as some people retain from I did help the hatching or I would have lost that one too.
So stressful I think I will leave it up to nature and let mom do it. Just hoping she knows how? Lol

Yeah it has a been a rough year! I am really sorry it isn't working out! Been rough for all the animals from chickens to goats to you name it! Really odd. And for the record I have always had more luck with chicken moms than I have incubators. Sorry we couldn't save them and I hope things get better!

Ok I have exciting news, I tried again to hatch some more eggs and today I hear pipping I'm so excited! The last 1i hatched I had to help, I know some people froan apone it but I had to help, and she is healthy now.. Not sure hoe long do I wait before I should see the shell broken? I keep the humidity at 65% but noticed from my other one that the shell seems hard still? Help!!
Ty

Hey! That's great news! It really depends on what day it is before i can answer exactly how long till pip. Typically though around 24 to 48 hours. Usually 24 however. AND that's good that your other chick is healthy, helping hatch is really a personal choice every time. I decide to do it sometimes, I just just don't like to recommend that other people do it because a lot of times it has not worked out and I don't want to cause that guilt in others, so yeah sorry for rambling their-sounds like you made a good decision!

Ya I really only helped with the shell part, I was so nervous, I just hope this one comes out on its own, too much stress lol
I just don't want it to suffocate. And with my past experience I really would like a new baby. I don't have much luck. But I do have a new incubator so is 65% a good humidity level? Or should I raise it.. Ty

I would probably keep it at 65%-70% Is there a glass top on your incubator? My general rule when hatching chicks is to have condensation on the edges of the glass, not too much covering the whole thing and not none at all, just around the edges.Oh yeah and what day are you on right now?

Today is day 20 so due tomorrow. It startled me when I was checking on my other eggs and I quickly turned the other ones and closed the incubator and heard the peeps, I was so excited lol
And yes exactly, I have condensation on the edge of the glass so hopefully ........ Baby! Lol

Alright then sounds perfect! I would expect a pip sometime tomorrow then! That is a great sign to hear them peeping now! Sounds crazy but talking back to them greatly encourages them to hatch! I have to call it a night but will make sure to check in tomorrow!
