I would candle the eggs. Either they are good or bad. If the temp or humidity was off, that can affect the hatch. I have had hatches a couple of days beyond the date they were supposed to hatch. I also calibrated my thermometers and hygrometers.
I can't find the link for calibrating thermometers but here is a link for calibrating a hygrometer.

lol funny...it took me 7 years to get pregnant with my first (lots of IF treatments) and you would think that I would have learned some patience....yeah NO!

I am on Day 21, 3 eggs doing nothing. I cracked the one open that I knew had a problem and sure enough it was a quitter probably a week ago (I don't know how to age the embryos)

The other two, I am sure I saw movement on Day 18, so I am leaving those for another couple of days and then I will have to take them out because I have other eggs waiting to go in.

depressing.

I Know!!!

What should I see when I candle?

And here is ANOTHER issue--disappearing eggs! Of 9 I broke 1 but I'm somehow down to 5. What is going on? I am so frustrated. My car broke down on my way home today and the part dh thinks will fix it is $400--but all I can think about is the darn hatch, or lack of hatch!

I'm right there with you guys! At day 21 & I've heard chirping on & off all day. Have 7 in the incubator with movement on day 18. So far 2 have pipped, but no progress yes. We're headed out of town on Thurs & it's driving me nuts!

Anyway back to eggs---

I am not feeling too confident about these at day 24!! not hearing a darn thing, tried the float test, they float so have an air sac?? what should I do? I have more eggs coming on the 8th soooo will give them till then that would be day 27!!
What do you guys think
ayda

Float test? So you put them in water and what?

I am not sure. I know for me, I am going to wait till Day 25 and if nothing...i have another batch waiting to go in (oldest one is 10 days old today)

The ones that hatched are all fine. There were about half that did not make it. Some were infertile and some died in the egg. However we had a power outage for 3 days at about days 15-18. I was amazed that any hatched let alone almost half of them. Be patient and leave the incubator closed as much as possible.

I did candle:fl the air sacs are there but there was absolutley NO movement, chirping or anything else so will wait till tomorrow and will throw out maybe lol and get ready for my next shipment

On day 22 I was ready to give up and I cracked open an egg to see what went wrong, and there was a live chick mere hours away from hatching. I tried to save it but couldn't.
If you decide to toss out the eggs, I might suggest cracking it open just a tiny bit to see if there is life. (Aim away from your face! Exploding egg warning!)
Yes, we tried IF treatment for 7 years, and now I have lots of furry children. I used up all my patience!
