Ok the two that are alive are they peeping at all? Have they zipped the egg shell at all? I hope they make it, my fingers are crossed!!

Not really. They have peeped a couple of times, but that is it. They hadn`t tried to get out of the shell, just pipped through the inner.

Just checked. Still both breathing. The veins are shrinking. Sadly, the ones that died look like they were ready to pip and zip. Such a sad day.

sorry to hear some are dead. don't blame the incident with the water, so much can go wrong. my hatch was 3/8 that were fertile on day 7 and that was with a broody hen so even in nature things go wrong.
i wonder if the two who are breathing will pull through....

meanwhile to cheer you all up could you google a local source of chicks and get a few for the brooder?
it's hard when you count the days and hope so much.
hugs ,esther

As long as they can breath and they can move around. The more they move the faster they absorb everything and can start hatching out. It worked great for me on my last batch of shrink wrapped chicks

I have already bought another incubator and 18 eggs Esther. Goodness knows why. I hope things go better with a real thing.

I am sorry your hatch wasn`t as big as you would have liked. I can`t wait to see pics of them when they come out.

They seem very week sandmbaker, but still breathing, and the veins are slowly going. If they do live, a large part will be because of your help.

My first attempt was with a homemade bator; utter failure after literally sleeping with the darn thing for three weeks to keep the temps from spiking. Bought the real thing 2nd time around and had a very high hatch rate.

I'm sorry bout your chickies ;( next time will be better!
