Day 27 duck egg pipped

Hi, I am on day 27 I have 5 eggs in the incubator 1 has pipped about 16 hrs ago and I can see it working hard to push its way out. This is my first time hatching ducklings. Is it normal that only one has pipped so far. I candled 2 days ago and movement in all 5 eggs at that time.

Yes, for me it's absolutely normal! My last hatch which was the end of May all hatched on day 27. I think last year some of them hatched a bit early too. I have runners, what do you have?

Created runners, 2 have pipped now. How long from pip to them hatching? Getting worried as it seems very slow. Been about 24 hours now

Once internal pip they have 24 hrs of air to external pip The Whole thing can take 2-3 days. External pips yet?

yes external pip yesterday at 3pm. Do I need to look out for anything or just wait

Hang in there they take their sweet time. @Magnolia Ducks is an experienced hatched let’s see if she’s on.

24 hours after the external pip is not uncommon, I would wait till the 36/48 hour mark before I would even widen the hole a bit. Is the duckling yawning still?

I have just had another look the hole is a bit bigger and it looks like it’s yawning also peeing and pecking. Another egg pipped as well only a tiny pop at the mo. I just can’t wait to meet them. I don’t want to go to bed and miss anything

on has hatched I missed it, I have been up and down all night and still missed it

That's alright They seem to like to hatch while were sleeping, lol. How is the duckling doing?
