Hi, I'm new to this forum and brand new to duck rearing!

We've got our first set of Indian Runner Ducks in the incubator. A small hole appeared in one of the eggs (pin head size) last night, but by midday today it had seeped some orange'ish substance and we were told the egg had gone bad (see photo). We have therefore taken it out and have 12 left.

Should I be doing anything now? There doesn't seem to be any movement and no noise. My instructions say they could hatch up to day 33, but I've got a feeling of foreboding and don't want to just sit here if there's anything else I should be doing. I'm very tempted to candle them and see what's going on, but know humidity is essential so I'm presuming I need to just be patient?

Your feedback would be appreciated. :-)

Nothing happening at all. We've got till Friday which is day 33, but would probably leave them in another day or two after that. Might make a tiny hole in the air pocket end of two of the eggs as heard that can encourage movement if they're still alive. Might also candle them again tonight.
