We are on day 30. One egg hatched on day 29 and one hatched today day 30. We had a couple eggs back on day 26 that were moving when we talked to them and we candled them and saw movement. How much longer should we let those eggs go in the incubator? There are no signs of external pipping. Also, what would cause something to go wrong that late in the game? Thank you.

I'm guessing that your eggs aren't muscovy... And one more day and they are dead. I guess.

Have you candled them to check for movement? Also, what are your temp and humidity levels running at?

Current temperature is 98.5 and humidity is 70%. Incubator only goes to 70% so we have placed some damp sponges in there. We looked at settings from all different sites and hatcheries and even called Metger Farms and they said everything should be ok.

Your humidity level seems fine. I would try raising the temp to 99.5. If your temp is too low it could delay hatching.

Will this raise in temp hurt the new born? Also, they said to specifically lower the temp for hatching. Thanks.

Yes, lowering the temperature 1° is a new thing that people do. I really don’t think it matters one way or another.
I obviously don’t know why the delayed hatch, but it just happens. More in an incubator than nature of course.
