Day one on the road to becoming smoke free.

I have smoked many times and have never gotten addicted at all. i dont know why... i used to buy a pack no friday here and there for kicks while i was partying with the guys... then never thought about buyign one again. probably bought 5 packs in my lifetime. Sometimes they actually make me sick, and really light headed. Goodluck quitting, i never had to because i kind of never really liked them to begin with.

Good for you!!! The sooner you are able to rid yourself of that terrible habit, the better off in all respects you will be. I began smoking at 8 years old when my Gradfather (a Russian immigrant) used to give me Pall Mall cigarettes and continued smoking until April, 1994 (more then 40 years of smoking) when I was diagnosed with cancer. The doctor told me that without any question that it was caused by smoking. Even then it was hard for me to quit and I tried for a couple of years until finally I was able to quit and have not touched a cigarette for more then 12 years. Right now I am cancer free and smoke free and glad that I do not have to face that terrible prospect of dying from cancer. At least not right now. Do anythin, take anything....BUT QUIT NOW! Afterwards you will never have felt better in all your life.

Good luck Brandon! I wish you sucess!

That's so exciting! Congrats! I am beginning my quitting process as well, day 8 today, cold turkey. It's going amazingly well; I thought it would be much harder. And it gets easier everyday. I am positive you will do just fine!

Yay for you!! It's so wonderful to be free from the NEED to smoke, to be able to endure long car rides and indoor events without needing to slip out for a smoke break. The Lord made it easy for me, I quit when I learned I was pregnant with my first baby and never started again, that was about 18 years ago. It must be so much more difficult now to BE a smoker, you can't light up in so many more places now, and it's so awfully expensive too.

Keep up the great work, we're here to cheer you on!

You can do it! When I really decided to quit, I was able to - I used the patches and I stepped down and was off even the patches by the second week. Thats not typical, so don't worry. I m just saying, even a hrad core smoker like I was could do it, and so can you!

Good luck, and enjoy your new freedom.

It's amazing that cigarette smoke can still smell good to me even 15 years after my last butt (only when I'm hungry). I guess that's the power of addiction......
