If this whole set so far has been fertile, it is possible that eventually your welsh could begin a nest and go broody. To check fertility, crack open an egg, and look anywhere on the yolk for a small white dot with a circle around it - that is called a blastoderm, and it means the egg is fertile and can be incubated. If you see just a plain white dot on the yolk, and no circle around it, that is called a blastodisc, and it means it is not fertile, and cannot be incubated. It's a quick and easy way to see if a clutch of eggs, or just one egg, is fertile.No. Why am I doing this?![]()
