After my rooster was killed, I was able to reacquire a 6 months old bird to replace him. Sadly, when he arrived he seems to have a decent lice infestation centered on his neck and face area but noticable everywhere. Yesterday I gave him a thorough dust bath with DE and today applied a 0.2cc drop of 5% ivermectin to his skin on his neck. Is there anything else I should do? He is quarantined by himself in a chicken tractor. Seems scared of wide open spaces for the moment.

Permethrin dust of spray works very well, better than DE, and also okay to use on your hens, if necessary.
To be sure he's clear of lice, retreat him in another week to ten days, and clean out his bedding each time.
Miserable rotten bugs! Despise them!

Well, it seems the ivermectin is working very well. About a 75% reduction in 24hrs using 0.2ccs placed at the base of neck
