^ Both are Silver Grey Dorking X Red Ranger One is almost full white, One is almost looking like a Silver grey Dorking, most are halfway between the 2.

the missing pictures are the BCM x Production Red. They came out black resembling a BCM chick.. they kept jumping out of my hands the 2 pictures I got of them were way out of focus

Awesome can’t wait to start mixing my breeds to see what I can come up with

I actually considered getting Shamo for crossing with meat birds, their meat is tough because they take so long to get to size. I thought why not cross one with a rapid maturing meat bird and see the results but I don't want to invest in the time it takes to mature a Shamo.

Technically lockdown was to be in the AM, but I decided since the water was running low today, I would let it run down and then we would do lockdown this afternoon. I removed the turners and laid them down. Placed sponges right under the top vent holes if I need to drop more water down there.

We shall see how this goes! We candled them and saw movement and strong blood vessels in them all (the 19 remaining)

Based on egg shape, me and the kids guessed 11 hens and 8 roos!

My two week olds were helping me watch videos of the brooders today. I video the brooders during the day and fast forward through them at night. Helps me watch to make sure all chicks are eating/drinking/not pasting up. Also helps watch early on behavior to spy cockerels at younger ages.

Unfortunately (I’ve only vent sexed the three I have serious thoughts on) it looks like my entire Aussie hatch is cockerels. Again.

Jostin sure likes throwing cockerels. I now have 12 of his sons growing out, which is fine because he’s one of the best cockerels I’ve ever bred.

Last pictures are him and a few of his ladies. He hits his first show next month. Four of his sisters will be showing with him.

At 10 1/2 months old he’s still got quite a bit of maturing to do BUT I’m really liking how he’s turning out.
