December hatch along

Pics
I started to get depressed looking at my incubator sitting all alone. I was going to do fine until the Dorking and production reds started laying. I want more Dorkings and the Production Reds are part of a long term project that will take generations, the sooner I get their offspring hatched the sooner i get to the next generation... so I broke down and started a December Hatch.

I totally understand. I'm waiting on my NN/Breese F2's to grow out now to breed, Plus my NN-Breese/CCLB F1's to start laying.

Pretty cool! Learning all kinds of new breeds & crosses to get others, now.

I would love to see some of the NN/Breese x CCLBs AND their eggs. I have both lines of CCLBs (neither is directly from GFF and just 1 Bresse that Im pretty sure is a pullet) I would love creating my own line(s) of Olive or bright green egg layers and getting a sustainable meat bird... HMM... brain wheels a'turnin'!!

Guess I might need to get a few more Bresse after all, LOL.

I have a white leghorn rooster that I want to cross with the games I’m hatching for a faster growing and hopefully faster maturing chicken and hopefully better meat production but it’s just a thought don’t know if those would be the results or not

My NN/Breese X CCLB pullets aren't old enough to lay egg's yet. I'm still growing them out. I am liking how they look though for my area's climate. The 2 pullet's that I am growing out almost look identical. Both inherited the NN's gene and have a bib, and they both also inherited the crests from the CCLB. They both have white feathering with scattered black feathering in them. I have to get the camera out there yet to take some pics.

The only thing that I can say to that is that you'll never know until you try it. If you don't like the results, then don't do it again? :gig
