Decided on a duck! Here she is!----Another quick question!

It is weird, and I would be interested in hearing more about it from Citychicker if she has any input.

Regardless we will love her even if her eggs turn hot pink!

That was an immature photo of the drake, Braum. Here is one of him with his 'big boy' plumage

I can't speak to their quality, as they were strictly for pets and eggs. I decided to go with smaller ducks that still layed well, so now have Welsh Harlequins.

Kansaseq,

And what pretty big boy plumage he has! He is so pretty!

Katharinad,

"mint Saxony" that's wonderful!

Picking up Isolde today, but had a couple of questions.

1. Should I put her straight into her pen tonight (should get home about 7) and then let all the ducks out to visit through the fence tomorrow? That way it's less overwhelming for her?

2. When we do let the ducks all together for the first time (which I am assuming should be after a quarantine, even though she's from another BYC'er?) Should I worry too much about fights?

Have not had to introduce another adult hen to the group before, so I just want to make sure I'm doing it right! THANKS!!!

The experts on here will tell you it's always a good idea to quarantine. I picked up two new birds from a good friend recently, and I am quarantining, even though her birds are healthy.

Isolde is in her carrier and we are leaving for work momentarily. See you later on!

Yes, that's what I figured. We have a temporary fence up to

Keep them away from her. My ducks are like bulldozers though, and have learned to bowl over the fence and trample it when they want in/out bad enough. I may have to go to the farm store and get stronger wire tomorrow.
