Thanks! Actually I have a white frizzle cochin. All the chicks seem to be a dark blue. What would the white frizzle roo with those produce color wise?

I am not at all good at know what mixed colors will produce. White masks many other colors so I would guess you might get black, or white and depending on what else is under the white, possibly blue. It should be fun to find out. Just know that any white chicken you would get from such a mating will not breed true.

OK WWD - I kidnapped the lil' bugger after he went into the coop. I made him a nice backdrop but he wasn't going for that. He hopped up on my pillow, then tried for the window that was not open. This chick is about three or four weeks old, smooth sizzle, but will have barely any crest it looks like. He is definately some kind of gold base in the front, blue all over, and now after looking at the picture it looks like some kind of red bleeding in on the wings. I say "he" at this point because his lil tail is nothin' but a stub. I think the color is too messed up to use him, but he is pretty.

Since you like bleeding birds - I would gladly give him to you if you lived closer

I was told this is a Sizzle --looks like one to me--correct? What about the color? Does this color have a specific name? What about eggs --she is about 18 weeks right now -- what size and color egg should I expect? What about frequency of laying? Thanks to all you Sizzle experts!!

He/She's blue partridge. S/he's a long way from laying yet. The eggs are pretty small if you're used to med or lg eggs.

Blue partridge isn't a recognized color variety in silkies or sizzles, so s/he's in the pet end of the spectrum.

Next generation you're looking for a mate with blacker skin, proper comb, a black face. Since s/he's blue partridge - a blue smooth sizzle or a blue silkie and yes I am implying that it's way too early to be certain that's a he or she. Though others would be more comfortable guessing at it.

I have both recognized and unrecognized colors here, love them all. My pet roo has a red face and comb and red on his blue/black color based feathers.

PBJ: He's cute. Bet he turns out a handful.
