Delaware x Buff Brahma Chick Hatched Today (Pic)

Been lurking on this conversation. Are you going to maybe get a Brahma- Del cross chick or did they all die now?HOPE NOT! Was really wondering what that cross will look like .
New to chickens but really Love the brahamas
Your black cross girl so so pretty...and the buff.... Adore the Buff onthe porch. They make me catch my breath so pretty..
.Think i need to get a buff for sure.
Alll i have now is 3 light Brahma pullets about 4 months old.. Big now but so pretty and fluffy..My favorites of all of mine
More photos of your hens would be lovely!.

There was only one of Caroline's eggs under each broody and they met the same fate, sadly. I never expected in a million years for my 4 year old Nugget to kill a chick, but alas, she did.

I do like the Brahma crosses. LOVED the Orp/Brahmas! I've only had two Brahma hens and the Orp/Brahma hen out of Caroline, our Glenda. She was a doll, too, another really good broody. Found her dead suddenly of what we think was an after roost-time accident. She'd never been ill a day in her life.

Here was one of the Blue Orp x Buff Brahma males out of Suede and Caroline-he was like a draft horse of chicks, LOL:

All these chicks are the same age and he towers over them all:

LOVE those blue orp/brahma crosses! It's sad to hear of your rotten luck lately with Caroline's babies :( But sounds like she's still laying good, there is still a chance! I'd really like to see that cross as well. Also, Caroline is lovely. I ordered my second batch of chickens this March (my first batch did not do well, as I got them last July and in AR we had a sweltering hot summer. The ones that didn't die were roos so I just sold the few left) My new ones include Light Brahmas and I just think they're a lovely breed. I originally ordered the buffs, but the hatchery called me on hatch day and said they had a bad hatch so I switched to lights. 4 pullets and a cockerel, and my boy just towers over everyone else like your guy up there :)

My Brahmas never an issue with the heat or with the cold. Caroline and Miranda were both friendly without being underfoot nuisances like some I have, both very good layers. I particularly love the Buff Brahma coloring. Every neighbor who came to buy eggs and their families would always point out Caroline and say, "Oh, she's so pretty! What is she?". Just great "salt of the earth" hens, the Brahmas.

I had a sexing mistake, a Lt. Brahma cockerel, originally named Bess, changed to Bart, who was sold, but he was turning into a real sweetheart. I wasn't prepared for rooster the size I thought he was going to be in the main flock over some of the smaller hens, but sometimes, I almost wish I'd kept him.

I will continue collecting Caroline's eggs when I catch her laying, rotate out the older ones and replace, and if I have another broody, she'll definitely have those under her.

NO way!! THE SAME AGE!!! Is he super chicken?Honestly thought he was the MOM! He looks sort of like he has a lace effect on his feathers too.

Oh, yes, those pure Orpingtons and the black Ameraucana were hatched with that big blue tank-boy! In fact, the friend who took him named him Sherman for Sherman Tank, LOL. He does have some lacing, yes. He was humongous and very mild-mannered and full brother to the black hen I posted the pic of, Glenda. She was hatched at the same time, actually.

A member in VA hatched some of those crosses and loved them so much, he kept a trio to breed.
