Delawares from kathyinmo

Some of you already know, but I thought I'd share. My 13 month old F5 hen made it to Champion Row last weekend, at the NCPA show in Red Bluff, CA. There were Buckeyes, Dominiques, Jersey Giants, New Hampshires, Barred & White Rocks and Wyandottes entered in the American class. A White Rock took Champion American and she placed Reserve American. Judge Eric Kutch was pleased to see the Delawares. I heard that he even commented on them at the banquet. I was surprised to win and so excited! It was surreal to see my bird on Champion Row.

@kathyinmo Look what all your hard work has produced! Thank you for restoring the Delaware!!!

I did not take this bird to Modesto. This is the same Delaware that Walt placed Reserve Large Fowl at the Heirloom Expo, last year. I brought the pullet that got BB at Modesto (G1) and this (now hen) W34, to this show. I wanted to see which would place better.

Would it be possible for you to get some more pictures of these two birds side by side.

Looking at the 2 I got from you I have a pretty good place to start.

The W34s were nice from hatch!

How is the hatching going this year?

The first photo is pullet G1 at Modesto.

Second & third photos are both W34. In the second shot, she is still a 6 mth old pullet, in the Expo show. (photo by Lual) Last shot was taken Saturday.

I miss having you do the hatching for me! I'm way behind. My first hatch is still in the incubator. I don't have a climate controlled place to do incubation, so that's a problem. I finally cleaned my office and set the incubator & hatcher up in there. I'm using a fan to keep it cool when it gets hot and it's not getting too cold in there, now.

Not exactly sure of the parentage but Kathy's boy is head hancho in the pen. There is 1 production girl in there too.

congrats. this is why I might start showing. There is so little good representation of breeds here at the State Fair and some shows. I'd like to see bigger prize money too.
