Feeling down today.

Chicken party! Head to the coop. (Seriously, seeing their weird little faces and those crazy running legs always makes me laugh, no matter how grim I feel inside)

But i have no chickens. I wanted to order some but husband said it was too soon. Now i can't get the ones i want because they quit hatching them for the year. Feel like the coop building is useless.

WHAT? I can't believe it What other animals do you have? What type of chook do you have your eye on getting? You could also get something else to tide you over until your wanted breed is available? (enabler? Who, me? )

I have a German Shepherd, a Papillon, a Siamese cat with her kittens, 13 guineas, and 2 rabbits. I want Speckled Sussex and Polish. I have been about 3 years chickenless after having gazillion chickens in TN. But Polish are unavailable for the rest of the year, and i don't want 15 SS. I am considering other hatcheries, but don't know who to trust. Any suggestions?

No, I'm in Australia, I don't know of any US breeders. I got my polish/silkie crosses from another local chook owner who sold me some fertilized eggs. I saw polish at the bird shop, but I was trying to be responsible and resist, and when I went back later, somebody had bought them, so when I saw the eggs and I had my two clucky girls, I went for it. I fell in love with them when I saw them in real life.

Had a very good day today!

Went to town with dad (and little sis)... Best person in the world. He truly is a wonderful person! Funny, stern when need be, smart, and knows what needs to be said always!

Finally figured out some things I've been struggling with in school work. Moving fast to 8th grade.

Turns out our property didn't work out for the one person so we are still waiting... Lots of people interested!

Only thing that was a bummer is I didn't get to see a friend... Turns out he lives here in the same town I didn't know... But anyway dad and sis saw him.
Maybe next time!

I am still training Jetty and we have overcome leaps and bounds.

Dad said if we get the house I can get surious about training dogs... Which means I can get a puppy to keep and train.
