My husband and I are very new to having/raising backyard chickens. A couple months ago we purchased our first lovely "hen chicks". One of our lovely ladies has; however, done the miraculous and transformed into a dutiful, singing rooster. The feed store will take him back in the fall--but--by then we will probably been tared and feathered (forgive the pun) by the neighbors. I have tried the "rooster collar" which has brought the volume down but I am now desperately looking to re-home Elvis. I have grown weary of the unhelpful suggestion of putting him in the freezer. If anyone can help with re-homing a young, healthy young man please advise. He's free too a good home--PLEASE !! not for the freezer.
Thanks.... new to the backyard chicken group,
