Hello! We will be getting chicks soon and I am prepared with our brooder, feeder, feed, waterer, heater, etc.. But there is one thing I am not prepared for- I have no idea how to actually teach my chicks how to eat. I have read some things about it but I need detailed steps on how to get them to eat. Do I just leave food on the ground all day until they learn what food is? Do I sprinkle it a couple times a day and show them the feeder? I am a bit confused so I need detailed steps on what y'all do to teach your chicks what food is and how to eat from the feeder. Thanks :)

Awesome, thanks. I will try your tip with poking my finger in the feed, that seems like it would work :). Should I cover the bedding with something like paper towels so they don't eat the bedding instead?
No the bedding is fine. Even if they do peck at it, it's fine. Plus if they are young right now, they would not even fit the bedding in their mouth.
Once again, even if they do eat it, it's usually not harmful. They'll mostly go for the chick food.
