Detailed steps on teaching chicks to eat? How do I do it???

If a chick needs extra help:
How to make food small enough for weaklings:
-toast bread until crumbly
-crush or blend or grate the bread until thin and dusty
Now you have very small crumbs suitable for small chicks. Wet your finger and dip it in the crumbs. Let the weakling eat it off your finger.
This is what I did with my chicks
Make sure they are drinking too. Dip one's beak in the water, put her upright, let her swallow, repeat until she jerks her head (she doesn't want more)
repeat for other chicks

They make a mess with food and water. I elevate or suspend the feeders and water so they can still reach it but can't scratch it out or knock it over so easily. I also put something to contain spilled water underneath to keep the bedding dry. Usually one chick will figure out what they're supposed to do and the others will learn by watching. I have had to show a few how to do it.

I li e my brooder with newspaper; if the chicks don't show sufficient interest in the feeder, I just sprinkle a little feed on the newspaper. The sound of chick starter raining down on paper appears to trigger extreme interest, and they gobble it up like me on donuts.
