Devastated! Warning Graphical

Don't know what would just kill them all and leave them? One momma duck was on her nest dead. Game Warden has been called and he's trying to figure this out. Others told me it must have been an owl??
Our friend came home one day to a weasel running out of where he kept his chickens. It killed all the chickens for sport. Weasels can get in pretty small spaces - I've heard say if the hole is the size of a quarter, a weasel can get through it. They are long, but very streamlined animals. We used 1/2" hardware cloth on our run because of it! So sorry about yours - it's terrible!

That's what I was thinking when I saw that picture I thought ... Ferret.

Sorry I'm rambling on, it too quiet now, my son and I are very distraught. There has been a bird dog reported running loose, that's what I shot at in the goats area. Will they do this to chickens and ducks?
Most dogs will kill chickens or other poultry unless they've been trained otherwise. Unfortunately the culprit most likely to have done this would have been the one you shot at and missed.

My son and I have been raising Red Star, Delaware and Barred Rock chickens a long with Pekin, Rouen, Runner and Muscovy ducks. I'm disabled so the eggs help the grocery bill and selling the extra eggs pays their food, treats and on utilities. My son went out to feed and this is what he saw.View attachment 2801622
Last year a fox claimed 2 of our girls and we had to put down 1 because she was so injured we had to put her down

I've never seen a weasel out here. I've gotten rid of 3 dogs and 26 cats so far.

It would be from Abilene, Texas. They are about 45 miles away. I'll try to get Home Cheapo to price match too!
Weasels are found in most parts of your state and use rat tunnels to get inside your coops. They also climb and dig well! Be forewarned they can be hard to trap but a weasel box works best (if all else fails find a trapper who'll make a box for you or trap it themself) Weasels live near water like Otters and Minks and love to eat fish. All the cats you've trapped I wouldn't think you'd have a weasel as they kill them.

I had a bobcat kill 14 birds one night. I did get the bobcat a couple of nights later when it came back. Now I have several cameras up. I have electric wires around my coops and pens and nothing has gotten past the hot wires. Good luck...

It shouldn't have come back.

I have chicken wire around the outside of my pens and with the electric wires nothing messes with it but I also grounded my fence so if anything was to try and climb and touched the hot wires and the fence they will know it. It will hurt but that is the idea I want them to hurt so they will learn that whatever is on the other side of the fence isn't worth getting a good zap for. Again, good luck...
