Hello! I have two pullets that I have the slightest of doubts might not be pullets. This is mostly due to them having larger and redder combs+waddles then their siblings.
The first is a 13 week old Rhode Island Blue. She seemed to have all of a sudden sprouted a bright red comb! I have another 13 week old (almost 14 I think) Rhode Island Blue, but her comb is muchhhh smaller and still pale. I may be paranoid, but when I was out there I thought I saw the slightest bit of pointy saddle feathers coming in from her back.
The second is a 13 week barred Cochin (one of four). She has always had a larger and redder comb then the other three, but I sleep noticed her disposition is slightly different.
I’m still leaning towards pullets, but thought I would post here and get some other thoughts!
The pictures I’ve attached are very low quality, but if anyone has a suspicion about either I can attach more photos tomorrow!

Thank you everyone! I think I just got a little freaked out with the RIB because she was developing some red stringy leakage on her chest/upper neck. I guess since RIB are a mix breed I should not be too freaked out by that!

The RIB is 100% pullet in imo (I will find a hat to eat if it is a cockerel)
With the other, can you get some sharper photos of the saddle and hackle areas?
Yes, I can do that when I go out there this evening!

Males tend to get red leakage on their shoulders and wings.
Females tend to get red leakage in their breasts and necks.
Photos of Black Sexlink hens are usually a good example of female leakage patterns.
