I took a 5 year break from chickens and just got 6 hens and a rooster last week to be a chicken owner again, but I have forgotton a few things.
The roo apparently has roundworm. Yuck. I used to deworm my previous flock with injectable Ivermectin for cattle and swine, but I administered it orally, and I have forgotten the dosage. Can anyone help me with the dosage? Thank you!

Welcome To BYC

Safeguard (Fenbendazole) or Valbazen (Albendazole) would be better dewormers to use than Ivermectin.

To treat Roundworms Only:
Safeguard dose is 0.23ml per pound of weight given orally once, then repeated in 10 days.
OR
Valbazen dose is 0.08ml per pound of weight given orally once, then repeated in 10 days.

Ivermectin may still treat Roundworms, but it has lost some of it's effectiveness over the years. If you still wish to use it, dosing is in this link.
