I think a coyote is killing my birds. I keep spare roosters and cockrels separate from my main laying flock and they free-range. I've lost 7 birds in the last 2 weeks. 5 of my guys just disappeared, I've seen a few feathers, but no blood. This past week, I saw 2 dead birds left behind and partially eaten. One was even attacked during the day. I haven't seen the culprit. Once we can establish a pattern of its behavior, we (and I mean he) can be waiting with a more permanant solution.
DH has been meaning to get one of those cameras that you strap to a tree and it takes pictures when the motion sensor gets activated. He wanted one anyway to try to catch who's been ripping down our "No Trespassing" signs and riding their ATVs through our land. But he's buying one NOW because of my coyote problem.
How can you not love a guy like that?
He doesn't even LIKE my chickens!
Here it is: (Wow, that's a huge link) He had Cabelas credit he was able to use towards it.
