Survived the night. It was a rough night for the mid west. I spent the last 2 days cleaning out the garage so I could get my car in. I was prepared except for the whole where will we hide thing. Every spring I swear we are going to get a storm shelter. I have been in Oklahoma for 13 years and am originally from Texas. So I have seen a few storms. Prayers for the people of Shawnee, OK where they were hit pretty hard.

I am off to try and break a broody or give her something besides golf balls...
Certainly sending prayers that way, soo much damage/loss. . . glad to hear you're OK.

I am getting nervous. **** i have a lot of eggs. I may get to use the hatch 300 photo sumi posted as my avatar lol

tomorrow (of today) I have an egg run for peafowl and OGMs mystery box of purebreds. Wednesday I run for 12 of HFR blue andies 24 turkey and 24 guineas.

wed and thurs will see all sorts of boxes arrive. bresse, orps seramas, sebrights, australorps, RIR, barred rocks BCM, wellies and cotornix.

i wish i had 10 broodies about now.

I have 2 broody local hens too - they will get the 1/2 the guinea fowl and 1/2 the barred rock eggs look after. If my brother in law has a broody, she will get the golden sebrights - they are for him anyway.

My buddy has 4 broody scovies - they will get the 15 scovy eggs and 18 goose eggs between them.

now I cant sleep with excitement

Anybody used a scovie to incubate a goose??

I was pondering the question above

its a shame to not take advantage of a ducks warm bum

any thoughts??
Chickens can hatch ducks eggs, so I can't see why a "duck" can't hatch goose eggs. Give it a shot.

How many eggs do you need still? LOL 300 is a lot, but it would be awesome if you could pull that one off. Poor Bernie would have his hands full though, with all those chicks. But it sounds like he's enjoying this.
