Beautiful Pups!!!!

Sooooo, I candled all my Langshan eggs the other night and not ONE bad air cell in the lot of them. I can't believe it! Lot's of movement in all the eggs. I did have 2 clears out of 15 eggs so I am down to 13 at day 12

On day 18 lockdown, what do you make your humidity? Do you take it up at Day 18 or wait until the first internal pip? What about your temp, do you take it up? Just looking for your lockdown routines.

To be honest I cannot give you a set number, I go by what my air cells look like on day 18

a lesson learned along the way!

Now to decide if I want to get the cheap still air or try to figure out how to get them all in with some mobile air cells..
I could have written your story exactly because the same thing happened. I set them all upright in paper egg cartons in my still air LG. For turning, I just moved a board around under the whole incubator on the outside since I'm doing a dry hatch. I say set all that you can and since they are shipped eggs get paper cartons to develop in then lay them down at lockdown. :). Tell Mike this is chicken math!!!!!

You can put all the wobbly cell eggs in a carton and lay the stable eggs. That should get you enough room until you candle and weed out the quitters and duds.
OMGAWED! I would have died on the spot! I am such a freako with snakes, I still consider these wild ones different than my own pet California King! uggggggg
No snakes ever in my house. I hate them with a passion. This looks like the snake I found climbing a tree the other day and I ran for my trusty shovel but it was faster than I was.

dogs are so much cheaper and cuddlier but chickens lay eggs and eat bugs.

Kay-for lockdown I just raise the humidity to 65-70%. I also don't always lock down on day 18. Sometimes it is day 19. This last time I missed one and locked down after I found and external pip. If you are worried about aircells not being big enough just stop turning day 18 and raise humidity on day 19.

So if my air cells look like day 18 on your diagram in Hatching 101, what humidity would you set it at? These are over all the best air cells I've seen for shipped eggs. :) Right now humidity gauge says 72% and temp is 100. Tonight will be Day 19.

Thanks for the info. I think I have good air cells this time. I have another hatch going in another incubator and I'm going to try the stop turning at 18 and up humidity at 19. I think that would work better in this FL humidity during the summer. Without a drop off water the inside of the bator never got below 33% humidity and sometimes was 45-55%.
