OZ now I know you well enough to know you can pit stop somewhere! cant you find them close! did you look on here for more locals with them? send word out!
It may sound crazy but its hard to find eggs in SoCal.
Planning to establish a breed in the Philippines requires a decent number of chickens. 5 hens and 2 roosters is really the minimum. That means I really need atleast 12 but preferably 18 eggs that are less than 5 days old when I get on the plane.
Most people here are back yarders. No roosters. There are plenty of designer chickens but few heritage breeds. When I track someone down with a breed I want, I can get ones and twos.
I have not given up.
I am happy with what I have. OffGridMAMA, SoCal Dorkins, poulettes, phage, and LaPalma Chicks have all rallied in attempts to get me eggs.
This will be an exciting trip!!!!!!!!!!!
