So say you aren't NPIP.unfortunately I am talking with no office person, I am speaking with the Dr. herself. she is very very kind mind you, its just when I read the above stuff and I can get past some of the stuff, and she said she is willing to work with us, but I cannot get beyond the above part now. Why on earth would I put my house and property and well being on the line for a few bucks to pay for my feed and chicken stuff? I am not quite sure on the "probability" part of the above happening, but I don't like to gamble my money I would sooner go to a casino and watch others loose their money and keep my 20 bucks in my pocket. That's just the way I am. Does this make sense?
Say your chickens start dying.
Say you send a chick off to be sacrifices and tested
Say it comes back one of the nasties.
Say you have to kill off your whole flock.
Following NPIP guidelines will only make your flock stronger.
It can happen to anyone. NPIP or not. I lost several sows and 4 littlers of pigletts in 24 hours. Its the gamble us "farmers" take.
