just hatched? they aren't coordinated sometimes for hours afterwards, how old is it now? just a hour or so?ok quick question... I have had a chick just hatch and it keeps flipping on its back. isn't that hard on their breathing? why is it doing that???
lol what a supprize. If it makes you feel better- I had chicken poop in my dryer. My DH left it open yesterday (full of clean clothes) after taking his work clothes out. I guess the chicken thought It would be a great place to take a nap. When I pulled out the clothes to fold them I found a "surprise", I wondered why the clothes smelled funny.

Did the vet say how long it would take to get an answer?
Thanks guys. it was just 30 mins old!! He seems to be doing better now. Had another hatch! all good so far. pretty exciting stuff. Managed to catch one coming out the shell on camera too!
like oz says if all else fails, give sulfaOk the vet is stumped. She is bringing me Sulmet tomorrow. I'm to get all the chicks into wire cages and get them off the ground and saturate everything with a 3 to 1 bleach mix.
