diatomaceous earth - did I buy right kind?

Howdy Neighbor!

That's an excellent buy! Do you know what their hours are? DH is working 6 days a week and uses the only vehicle we have, so I resorted to buying my DE on line. It was easier at the time but I'd rather not pay all the shipping if we can avoid it.

Thanks for the heads up!

Dawn

Are there any New Yorkers or Pennsylanians out there who can give us a good list of Feed/Supply Houses that carry DE in those two states. Those of us here in NJ have to send away for it and it would be nice to go to a good Supplier in PA or NY(neighboring states) and throw a few large bags into the back of the pickup and drive it home. Thanks in advance for any leads!

Trish!!
It was really, really nice to meet you today! Thank you for getting the order together and dividing it. I really appreciate it!! We will let you and others know how it works for us. Let me know if you would like me to take care of all that next time if you want to split more!!

I'm sure we will see each other again. My husband appreciated your help today with the information you printed out.

Talk to you again soon!

Hi Dawn,
The fellas name is Charlie Fouts and he works out of The Woodbury Flea Market. Call him by 9/10 and he will make sure you get what you need. Phone # is 615-653-3563. He gets it in every 4 weeks. That's his cell. All you have to do is call him and he will meet you at a time that is convenient for you. I got the last bag, so he won't have any extra unless you call him before the 10th. Lori

Sorry I didn't see your other post before you came to the store. It was really nice to meet you and your family too! I'm sorry my daughter wasn't there when you came. She would have enjoyed meeting you all as well.

I hope you all enjoyed the dinner tonight, and tell your daughter Happy Birthday for me! I wish I'd read the other post and known about it before you came in today, so I could have told her myself. And tell your husband it's no problem for the information. I hope it turns out to be helpful.

Let me know how the DE works for the dogs. I'd be interested to know if it is the same "miracle cure" it has been for the kitten.

Hopefully I will get some near the coop tomorrow, and I'll see how it does on the flies. Interested to hear how it works outside for you too.

Thanks for the offer. I might take you up on it, if we end up needing more. And if you need a bit more, let me know, because I had intended to split it 3 ways if you want, but I could only get 11 pounds into that bag. The stuff really takes up a lot of space, but doesn't weigh much! If I calculated correctly, I should have about 24 pounds here.

I still hope my boss will decide to carry it at the store, since we can't get it around here. I'll have to talk to her some more about that. The eucalyptus soap keeps fleas off of her animals though, so I doubt she'd need to try it herself.

Take care, and talk to you later!

Thanks for the info. I found a great price on DE here in Fort Myers FL.

A side note is that the bad DID NOT say food grade so I called the company in CA
and was told that it was in fact food grade but the law kept them from putting that on
the bag. Take if for what it's worth. I believe him.

What was the problem with the DE at Barnes? Perhaps last year they had something else, but I saw them carrying Red Lake Earth a couple of months ago and it IS designated as food grade. Somebody on the forum emailed them and the sales guy replied and said that he ate the stuff himself every day with yogurt.
