The bifenthrin or cypermethrin type products have good residual and so will kill them if they come back later. Indoors, out of the weather, they can keep working for close to a year. Outdoors, bifenthrin usually works for about three months, give or take, depending on weather conditions and the Cyper can be even longer.
FYI Cypermethrin is also one of the most common termiticide products which is sprayed under a slab during construction and will last several years under those conditions. The only insect I have encountered that is pretty resistant to them is spiders. They require more spraying or even better changing chemistries to something like lambda cyhalothrin. A common brand of that chemistry is called Pestabs
