My mother sent me home with two dozen eggs this past Saturday and I came home and put them in my egg basket on the counter like I normally do. This morning, she made me aware that the eggs had previously been refrigerated AFTER I had already fed five of them to my family. They had previously been unwashed. I did wash them off this morning before I cracked them. Did I just give my family salmonella? They have essentially been unrefrigerated for 5 days and I am about to cry at the thought of making my family sick!! Please advise!

Fully cooked, not an issue.
Yes sir I scrambled! I have just heard not to eat after they’ve been refrigerated. It was a total miscommunication because normally she doesn’t refrigerate but did because she had too many and was afraid they wouldn’t get eaten in time. She just failed to tell me and now Im just worrying myself silly

I’d water test them to be positive.
This will not tell you if an egg is bad.

Floating an egg will only tell you how old it might be.
They float due to evaporation when older.
It will not tell you if an egg is 'good' or 'bad'.
Plus then you've wetted the egg so it should be thoroughly washed and refrigerated.
