hey shultz!!!!!

Well...ever since i put that fan in their...there is a red plug above where the fan sits at. It was there when i got the bator but i have been recently takeing it out because with the plug " in" the humid stays at 42% "a little on the high side" people have told me. But with the plug out...it stays around 35% "perfect" is what i was told on that percentage. So....i guess i could add more water the next time i turn here in about 2 hours....so i will not have to mess with the humidity for a while, but other than that i have no clue what else i could do. I was scared when i touched the egg's becuase they were not as warm as they normaly were. I just hope i did not hurt them!!

You should be ok. I would leave the plug in but that's just me. I keep my humidity around 40-50 % depending on what is in the bator. I have had many good hatches! If ya need anything PM me

ETA: don't be afraid if the temp gets a little low, I have had it happen too. It just delayed my hatch.
What is in there right now, the buffs?

I was told that the humidity under a mother hen does not reach higher than 55%...and that is what it needs to be around hatching time. So that's why i run it at 35% with the plug out....ive had more than one person say 40% humid on up is too high.

You said heat spike is the killer...what is " too much heat " like 105 106'f??

Too much heat is above 103 but I have seen spikes go much higher for other poeple and still have some hatch. PM me on the humidity.

get a water wiggler. you can put a dig. thermometer probe into it and it will hold a fairly steady temp. like the inside of an egg good luck! and dont' fret too much.
