I built mine, an 8x16. Stands on 6 legs of 6" creosote poles set in cement. It has fluorescent lighting, 4 windows, vinyl floor, power, set up for ceiling fan for summertime. Also has two gable vents and one turbine vent . I ran water and power to site before building and set a hydrant 10 ft from coop. It has a standard 6-panel 32" door and two pop doors with guillotine cable-and-pulley closers. Pen is 185 ft around, 72" 2x4 welded wire set in cement with 24" tall chicken wire inside at ground level. 5 mile fence charger (4 KV) with 4 courses of hot wire. PVC gutters and vinyl siding and slate colored roof shingles and a cranberry red door since we can see it from the house and driveway. Ended up $1700 with all my labor, nothing hired out. No salvage materials exc the creosote poles and the turbine vent. Had to buy everything else.

Have 24 large layers, BR, BC, BA, RIR.

Am adding two flower boxes, red of course, with genuine plastic flowers in them.

My neighbor who is a general contractor, helped me build my coop. He had all the tools, the know how, and even some free lumber. We put it together in about a week, spending a few hours a day.

Some pics.

I love seeing all the pictures!

I converted an old rabbit hutch into a coop and an old pool equipment shed into a run.
It won't win any beauty contests but the girls seem to like it.
