Did you eat the very first egg your chicken gave you?

We ate the first eggs as a celebration to our Chicks, and in honor of their abilities. Wouldn't think of doin' any other thing with the inaugural egg(s)!

p.s. Pardon me. I'm new to the forum and haven't figured out how to embed photos. Otherwise, I'd have a pic of the first egg from my best layer!

I haven't eaten any of my first eggs -- they were so tiny, i did not think they would have anything much inside. I would love to know how to blow them out. I have seven tiny eggs in the fridge that I am just saving.

Yes I did, they were beautiful, just a bit smaller than commercial eggs.

I have a whole dish of them. now we got so many new layers we're blowing out some of the different colors. one thought though is in making the whole a little bigger in the ends then your cheeks wont get sore or in my case your ears wont pop (and hurt).

It's funny because eating the eggs was second priority for why I wanted chickens. First and foremost, I wanted them to help with gardening (recycling kitchen scraps, turning the soil, depositing manure, etc.). But I can't wait to get that first egg.
