DYK There were wild blackberries everywhere when we lived in WA... Stop by the ATM & pick a few berries. Take the dog out to pee, pick a few berries. If I knew then what I know now, I'd have been making a lifetime supply of jam.

If you have a sponsor, go for it, if you want to be a veterinarian. You need to do some work at a vet clinic for your finishing school. There is a need for large animal vets, specifically cattle and other livestock. Here in Montana there is a shortage of large animal vets because they don't make much money compared to the small animal vets. There are way more women entering veterinary school than men now, and women are less likely to work with livestock. My mom does large and small in her practice, with some specialties in sheep.
I spoke to her today and she gave us hints and advice on how to keep the debit down. Since I am in this state the cost is quarter of out of state which saves a lot, I just have to look at the best pre-led degree for it TBH. Most kids ATM are doing poultry science so it gonna be flooded soon.

Grow lettuce in cool moist temps. I guess if you were gonna grow it in the south, now would be the time. Use floating row covers or " wall-o-waters". I love wall-o-waters, they protect plants and lengthen growing seasons.

It is HARD to get into vet school. Harder than to get into medicine, and unless your parents can sponsor you for 1/3 Million you will be paying off your debt for a decade (or two). And that does not include your undergraduate degree.

Then there is the actual pay... Which is a fraction of what doctors earn.

This is what vet school looks like. Note almost TOTAL absence of boys (they are probs all in the med school across the road)

Nice pig skull!

Did you know, I wish I was a better gardener, because I hate buying stuff, like lettuce, at the store.
I also wish I was a better "farmer" in general, so I could provide a lot of our food with out having to buy all those hormone fortified foods.

DYK if I had 1/4 of an acre of land, I could produce mor then 3/4 of my family food?
