People go over board with the Poly vi sol recommendation... it is supposed to be IF you already have it on had for your kids OR if you can't find the poultry nutri drench. IMO PND is a far superior product for chickens. It's formulated for them and it has amino acids in it.

I agree it isn't likely the nerve.. I guess I was trying to be kind.

I agree 100% here.
Nutri-Drench is 100 times better than Poly.

I've had her from a chick, got her from Meyer hatchery. I have some chicks but they're in the Broder in the garage. Nowhere near this coop. I will try that, thanks!

How long have you had them and where did they come from?


Having birds on the same acre of land, anywhere, and they will all be exposed to the same things no matter how much hand washing you do.

You will find we really care and have your back here. Much different than FB.

Some of us are still learning our chicken stuff (and even give inaccurate information sometimes) while others are practically expert and won't hesitate to call your vet out if they think they were mistaken. I got the chickens in the garage from a local breeder. About 4 weeks ago.

I didn't know that about Marek's. Is there anyway I can for sure tell its Marek's? She seems to be showing no other symptoms, is my whole flock going to get this?

Were those chicks from an incubator or a broody? Sounds like it could very well be your source.

No your whole flock may not "get" it... or at least not show symptoms or succumb... out of 82 birds I had... 2 chicks presented 3 weeks apart. I saved the first one and nursed along believing it was vitamin deficit. But culled at the end of 3 weeks as I decided it was no life for the bird or me. When the second one presented... I culled immediately... Haven't seen it pop up again YET... a couple hundred birds later.

I too think these chicks are the "problem"...I am sorry.
There isn't anything you can do now to prevent others from getting it but cross your fingers.
Hopefully this girl pulls through for you but I doubt it.
I don't say this in an ugly way either...it's just how it goes.
