I like the looks of it, my others have been sort of smaller and my new one I would of liked somehting bigger something that felt like the SLR thats why I liked the Kodak P880. But to stay in my price range I think I will have to pass on that for now

So I am wondering about this Optical Zoom, it seems alot of people are saying there cameras and the ones I am seeing that I like have a low optical zoom.

Something like 6X Optical Zoom

The Kodak I got yesterday has a 12X Optical Zoom.

What is better? I know some things a smaller number is actually better. Is this the same type of idea?

I am not real technology smart!

Next will be good GPS Navagation Systems HA!

I have had a Kodak EasyShare for three years and it didn't have alot of zoom but I have made wonderful pics with and now i just purchased one on sell at WalMart with 10X Zoom

My new camera program on Windows Vista which is Windows photo Gallery is awesome. I can take a pic that looks like it has a cloud over it and completely fix it and the same way with dark. I can change exposure. Here are some pics with my new camera. I am learning how to use it.\\

What Model is your camera Bama?

My third Kodak is a CX7330 and now this new one is a Z712 IS I dont remember what my second Kodak was it was in the C series and my first Kodak who knows Lol

My DH loves old one as it is simple and he is not techy at all. He said he would take it. One of my friends just got a new Camera off Ebay and it is a Cannon with two zoom lenses to take on and off. It was heavy to hold but we made some awesome pics at a basketball game. She was practicing to. She had looked at the camera at Circut City and they wanted 1250 for it without all the extras she got. She got hers for 750

They tried to sell DH the Z710 but he wanted the Z712
Not sure what the difference is other then they look different.

Oh yeah, both our cameras have auto shutters so no caps to deal with. My little brother has an old cybershot and it has that cap. I too can't stand caps! His is REALLY old though and uses floppy discs!

I'll notify royicus about the camera thing and when he has time he'll probably post.

To my knowledge:

Optical zoom is with the camera lens, and digital zoom is "fake" zoom which really just amplifies your picture. If you want zoom in quality, do the high optical zoom options. Bigger is better in this case.

Thanks Silkie, I will read and see how to do that on my new camera.
The 710 was on sell for 149 at WalMart so I felt I could afford that to see how I would do with a upgrade. It has a joystick on it and old me never had one of those before and I had to go back ot Walmart and get one of the young guys there to show me how to scroll with the thing.. If someone will show me or explain it to me ,well you know, you can teach and old dog new tricks.
