Hi I just got my first ducklings and goslings today and they are pretty dirty, they aren't yellow and fluffy they are dirty with sticky stuff stuck in their fluff that's kinda hard and just kinda dirty all over the goslings are fluffy but the ducklings are not it was really sad they were a day late and I had a loss of one of my ducklings

And all of the ducklings were huddled on top of the dead one and the goslings were up moving. Should I wash them? Let them swim supervised in a small dish of water since they were with the dead one? I need some help thanks.

Hi! It might be a good idea to give them some warm-ish water to swim in, but definitely supervise them as you said.

And then make sure they get warmed up and dry off. Do you have any Save-a-chick?

Hello ...:)

Put water in your bath tub at a Luke warm temp and only deep up to their bellies so they can still stand...Use a wash cloth and gently wipe them off..They will love bathing...:)....Then pop them back into the brooder under the heat lamp...They dry very fast..:)

Best wishes..:)

Thanks! And no I do not have any save-a-chick i can check my local feed store but if they do not have it I can check a tractor supply which is an hour away do you think pedialyte would be ok for their water? They are all up and running around right now eating and drinking very well one was acting odd at first and I encouraged him to drink and he finally joined the girls and is doing much better.

You really do not need that..;)....One drink of sugar water will work too...:)......Provide a water source deep enough to dip their heads up over their eyes and nares..Also wet the feed to a soupy mix and supply dry too...:)

Best wishes
